IX DOSAR Workshop in the Pilanesburg, April 6-8th, 2010
The Distributed Organization for Scientific and Academic Research (DOSAR) congregates institutions from the Southern part of the US, from Latin America and from South Africa which are involved in the development of the Grid computing technology for the major High Energy Physics experiments.
The DOSAR Workshop series is an important instrument to improve the relationship among all groups and exchange information about the latest development in the different analysis centers.
This ninth workshop will be held at the Kwa Maritane Game Lodge in the Pilanesburg, two hours drive from Johannesburg in South Africa, from April 6-8th 2010. The local organising committee is the University of Johannesburg.
The workshop will cover:
- * Shared infrastructure
- * Storage element - Design Strategy, Topology, File system, Configuration, expandabilit
- * Physics at the computing frontier: GPGPU, VM, Fault Tolerance issues
- * Analysis of early data
- * Issues on setting up Tier 3's initial stage up to larger Tier 3's
- * Beyond HEP
