Application Form for a Student Account on the UJRC

For students enrolled at the University of Johannesburg.
Students belonging to other institutions should first address their request to the contacts; a short support letter from an academic of their home institute would be especially welcome.

Please read and understand the Usage Policy?, and follow the Short Security Course?. If you have any questions or doubts do not hesitate to ask to the contacts.

On acceptance of this application, you will be given:

  • an account on glite-ui.grid.ac.za and osg-ui.grid.ac.za
  • 100MB of disk space for your home directory
  • 500MB of disk space in the scratch area
    note that in the scratch area any file older than 1 week (DRAFT) may be deleted without warning
  • permission to submit jobs to the student PBS queue
    • low priority
    • maximum 10 jobs running at any time
    • maximum 20 jobs in the queue at any time
    • maximum 10 minutes of wall clock time per job
    • maximum 2 simultaneous CPUs
    • maximum total of 100 wall clock hours of computing time

If your project requires resources beyond those indicated above, please specify them in the form below, and ask your supervisor to send a brief support letter.
