PaNIP-TDAQ Cluster Installation

PaNIP Cluster

1.  Private Compute Cluster - ~800 CPU Cores and 12 TB Storage

• We received computers from ATLAS-TDAQ @ CERN
  • 12 rack mount Dell C6100 Chassis
  • each 4 nodes,
• each with 2 CPUs Xeon E5540/E5650 /node
  • 16 GB RAM/node
  • 1 * 250/500 MB HD/node
  • 2 NIC ports/node
• 6 HP Network Swithes ProCurve 3500YL-48 Port J8693A
• UJ ICS gifts Dell Storage Server
  • Disk group 1 is a PERC H730P RAID5 of 12 3.36TiB HDDs with one device configured as a hot spare
  • Hosts VMs, like the Head node for the cluster.

2.  SysAdmin

• CentOS7
  • User account and name on request to sys admins
  • User authentication to head node by keyed ssh through tunnel into DMZ <Ask by Whatsapp>
  • Root password for learning sys admins = <Ask by Whatsapp>
• Foreman, Puppet, Local DHCP, Prometheus, Grafana, Condor, ATLAS software suite by CVMFS
