- Install a VM like Virtual box
- Get the linux image CernVM (OVA) from CernVM web page (use the stable version, not the beta version!!)

- There is no need to mount Virtualbox Guest additions image onto VM as CernVM is preloaded with it.
- When sharing a folder, go to Settings --> Shared folders tab.
- Click on the add file button and specify the path to the folder that you want to share.
- Check "Make Permanent" and leave the rest of the options unchecked.
- After booting the VM, the shared folder will be located under /mnt/shared/.
